The Ruler is a very simple and accurate tool to measure objects using your iPhone screen.
Button Guide:
- ⇄: Switch between inches and centimeters.
- ⇅: Toggle the 0 position (left/right alignment).
- C: Reset ruler position and red line.
- ▶︎▶︎: Advance the ruler when measuring objects longer than the screen.
How to Measure Objects Larger Than the Screen 🔗
Follow these steps to measure any object longer than your iPhone’s display:
Step 1: Initial Placement 🔗
Place your iPhone and the object on a flat surface as shown.
- Align the left end of the object with the left edge of the screen.
- Move the red vertical line to the farthest visible right point of the object (in this case, around 13.00 cm or 5.12 inches).
- Mark the position with a pencil or pen on the object.
Step 2: Advancing the Ruler 🔗
Without moving the object, move the iPhone so that the left edge aligns with the mark you just made.
- Tap the ▶︎▶︎ button to shift the ruler’s 0 point to the new position.
Step 3: Final Alignment 🔗
Ensure the red vertical line aligns with the new right end of the object.
Step 4: Read the Measurement 🔗
Read the value indicated by the red line.
- In this example, the total length of the object is 26.00 cm or 10.24 inches.
With this method, you can measure any length—simply repeat steps 2–4 for even longer objects.
